Sorbic Acid is the trans isomer of 2,4-Hexadienoic Acid and is commonly used as a food preservative. It is used as a food additive and is known by the E number E200.
Sorbic Acid and its salts are commonly used as preservatives to prevent the growth of molds, yeasts, fungi in foods and drinks.
