Characters It occurs as white, amorphous or crystalline powder.

Solubility Soluble in ammonia TS and in solutions of alkali citrates; insoluble in water and in alcohol.
Arsenic Not more than is 10µg/gm.
Limit of nitrate Specified test. No brown or brownish black color appears around the crystal.
Limit of copper, lead, silver Not more than is 10µg/gm.
Limit of Soluble bismuth Not more than is 40µg/gm.
Residual solvents Meets the requirements.
Assay Not less than 49.0% and not more than 54.0% of Bismuth.

Shelf life, Storage and Packing
It should be stored in a segregated area in a cool and ventilated place away from combustible materials. Keep in a tightly closed container, sealed until ready for use. It is packed in 25kg or 50kg HDPE bags or drums as required.
