(a) Yields the reactions characteristic of sodium salts and of citrates

Solubility Freely soluble in water; practically insoluble in ethanol (96%).
Acidity pH of a 3% w/v solution is between 4.9 to 5.2
Arsenic Not more than 2ppm
Chlorides Not more than 330ppm
Oxalate Not more than 150ppm
Sulfate Not more than 0.12%
Readily carbonisable substances Specified test. Not more than a pale brown colour is produced.
Assay Not less than 98.0% and not more than 104.0% of C6H6Na2O7,1½H2O

Shelf life, Storage and Packing
It should be stored in a segregated area in a cool and ventilated place away from combustible materials. Keep in a tightly closed container, sealed until ready for use. It is packed in 25kg or 50kg HDPE bags or drums as required.
