Descriptions It occurs as almost white powder, granules or plates.
Identification Test A a) The residue gives the reaction of silicates.

c) It gives the reaction of magnesium.
Solubility Practically insoluble in water and in organic solvents.
pH Between 9.0 to 10.0.
Arsenic Not more than 3 ppm
Lead Not more than 15 ppm
Loss on drying Not more than 8 %

Shelf life, Storage and Packing
It should be stored in a segregated area in a cool and ventilated place away from combustible materials. Keep in a tightly closed container, sealed until ready for use. It is packed in 25kg or 50kg HDPE bags or drums as required.
